Dear Job Seeker,
It is great to have a degree in a certain field as it can help you to build a strong foundation of knowledge in that area. However, being open to different career paths is important in today's ever-changing job market.
Building a successful career can be slow and full of twists and turns. Admittedly, some enter into their dream jobs straightforward from school but for many, you may have to meander through a mazy web to get to your dream job.
In some cases, you may have to totally abandon all that you studied in school.
Like most things in life, the truth is that, a smooth, predetermined career path is rarely something most people will get to have.
Even if a job isn't exactly what you're looking for, it can still be a valuable learning experience. You might learn new skills, meet new people, or discover a new passion that you never knew you had. And who knows - that job might even lead you to your dream career in the end.
Stay patient and stay flexible. Don't be afraid to take on roles in smaller firms or in areas outside of your area of study. Every job is a chance to learn and grow, and you never know where it might take you.
